We propose a method for smoothing polygonal meshes by using a diffusion system. The method discretely determines the positions of vertices and their second derivatives so as to simulate the minimum-norm property of cubic spline interpolations. Therefore, the shapes of the polygonal meshes are iteratively smoothed, and they are flexibly controlled by imposing geometrical constraints on arbitrary vertices.
