Diffusion process in a deterministically forced flow

  title={Diffusion process in a deterministically forced flow},
  author={Piotr Garbaczewski},
  journal={arXiv: Condensed Matter},
We analyze circumstances under which the microscopic dynamics of particles which are driven by a forced, gradient-type flow can be consistently interpreted as a Markovian diffusion process. Special attention is paid to discriminating between forces that are presumed to act selectively upon diffusing particles, while leaving the random medium statistically at rest (Smoluchowski diffusion processes), and those perturbing the random medium itself and thus creating the nontrivial flows. We focus on…

Controlled Markov processes and viscosity solutions
This book is intended as an introduction to optimal stochastic control for continuous time Markov processes and to the theory of viscosity solutions. The authors approach stochastic control problems
Theory and Applications of Stochastic Differential Equations
Presents theory, sources, and applications of stochastic differential equations of Ito's type; those containing white noise; and the role of partial differential equations in this context.

Chaos - The Interplay Between Stochastic and Deterministic Behaviour: Proceedings of the XXXIst Winter School of Theoretical Physics Held in Karpacz, ... February 1995
The study of chaotic behaviour of dynamical systems has triggered new efforts to reconcile deterministic and stochastic processes as well as classical and quantum physics. New efforts are made to
