The diffuse light bands which appear when a light beam, polarized in a direction perpendicular to the grooves, illuminates a reflection grating are attributed ([3], [4]) to the interaction of the surface waves with the grooves and the roughness of the grating. According to this model the bands must have certain degree of correlation due to the contribution of the periodic structure in its formation. We present here an experiment which allows us to visualize that correlation degree
