This work describes the theoretical and experimental approaches for monitoring the interfacial biomolecular reaction between immobilized antibody and the antigen binding partner using novel differential impedance spectroscopy. The prerequisite of any biosensor is the immobilization of macromolecules onto the surface of a transducer. It is clear that the function of most macromolecules changes from what is observed in solution once immobilization has occurred. In the worst case, molecules…

Impedance spectroscopy in biodynamics : Detection of specific cells ( pathogens ) using immune coated electrodes
TLDR
This work described the theoretical and experimental approaches for monitoring the interfacial biomolecular reaction between immobilized antibody and the antigen binding partner (the analyte, or the targeted cell) using Impedance Spectroscopy, IS and the proposed approach may be applicable to monitoring other surface interfacial reactions such as protein-protein interactions,DNA-DNA interactions, DNA- protein interactions and DNA-small molecule interactions.

TLDR
Examples of EIS as label-free, mediator-free strategies for rapid screening of biocompatible surfaces, monitoring pathogenic bacteria, as well as the analysis of heterogeneous systems, especially biological cells and tissues are provided.
Synthesis of a virus electrode for measurement of prostate specific membrane antigen.
TLDR
Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy is used to detect molecular recognition between M13 phage bound to a Au electrode and the following analytes: prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA), positive and negative control antibodies (p-Ab and n-Ab, respectively).
