Growth in the apical elongation zone of plant roots is central to the development of functional root systems. It has been known that rice seminal root elongation could be enhanced by water stress. In the present study, 17 cell-wall related genes were identified by cDNA-amplified fragment length polymorphism (cDNA-AFLP) technique.
