NGFI-B and RNR-1 are closely related transcription factors that constitute a distinct subclass within the steroid/thyroid hormone receptor superfamily. They have been implicated in neuronal differentiation, neuroendocrine regulation of adrenocortical function and T-cell apoptosis.
