The role of somatostatin (SRIF) on adenohypophysial hormone secretion in starved rats was reassessed by passive immunization. Because of the absence of pulsatile GH secretion in starved rats, the effects of the injection of SRIF antiserum on GH levels can be clearly demonstrated.
