In peripheral neuropathy (PN), dorsal column (DC) fibers that synapse in the nucleus gracilis (NuGr) mediate expression of mechanical allodynia and have increased expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). Neurotrophins (NTs) are implicated in pathology or repair in PN.
