Abnormal accumulation of amyloid β (Aβ), α-synuclein (α-syn), and microtubule-associated protein tau (tau) have been implicated in neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), and Pick's disease (PiD).
