Various kinases, such as tyrosine, protein kinase C (PKC) and MAP kinase, play important role in the cellular response to radiation, but little is known about the specific response in the whole animal. Most studies, except a few, are based on single cells. There is a paucity of data where signaling following whole body irradiation is concerned.
