Immunohistochemical localization of two estrogen receptor (ER) subtypes, ERb and ERa, was performed in neonatal, early postnatal, immature, and adult rats to determine whether ERa and ERb are differentially expressed in the ovary. ERb and ERa were visualized using a polyclonal anti-ERb antibody and a monoclonal ERa (ID5) antibody, respectively.
