Dielectric and polarization measurements were made on single crystal BaTi03 in a hydrostatic medium to 38 kbar. The nature of the ferroelectric phase transition is observed to go from first to second order near 35 kbar and —40 C. The pressure —temperature —electric-field phase diagram of BaTi03 is measured. The tricritical point is indicated in this part of the phase diagram by a change in shape of both the real and imaginary parts of the dielectric response as the material passes through the…

Electron paramagnetic resonance measurements near the tricritical point inBaTiO3
We report electron paramagnetic resonance measurements on BaTiO 3 , containing a dilute impurity of Fe 3 + , in its ferroelectric phase over a range of pressure and temperature near the
Temperature-pressure phase diagram and ferroelectric properties of BaTiO3 single crystal based on a modified Landau potential
A modified eighth-order Landau potential was proposed for the BaTiO3 single crystal by taking account into the quantum mechanical effects at low temperature. While all existing thermodynamic
The pressure-temperature phase diagram of BaTiO3: a macroscopic description of the low-temperature behaviour
The pressure–temperature phase diagram of BaTiO3 has been investigated using a modification of the standard Landau potential to take account of quantum saturation of the order parameter at low
Effect of uniaxial pressure on the ferroelectric phase transition in Pb5Ge3)11
The effect of uniaxial pressure (X) up to 1 kbar, applied along the three main directions, on the Curie temperature and the dielectric constant ec of a Pb5Ge3)11 single crystal was investigated. The

TLDR
This paper theoretically investigate the effect of pressure on the cubic-to-tetragonal phase transition and on the soft mode dynamics of some classical perovskite crystals and uses a model consisting of three subsystems: electrons, phonons, and off-center displacements treated as spins.
Pressure-induced phase transitions of perovskite ferroelectric crystals: comparison of hydrostatic and 1D compression pressure
The effects of hydrostatic and one-dimensional (1D) compression pressure on the phase transition of perovskite ferroelectric crystal were comparably investigated via the measurement of polarization P
Phase transition of polycrystalline BaTiO3 at high-pressure detected by a pulsed photoacoustic technique
Sound velocity changes of unpolarized polycrystalline BaTiO3, in the diamond anvil cell (DAC) up to 6.8 GPa, across the tetragonal to cubic phase transition at room temperature (RT) have been
Linearized augmented plane wave total energy calculations for ferroelectric BaTiO3
Abstract The ferroelectric instability in BaTiO3 has been studied using the full potential Linearized Augmented Plane Wave (LAPW) method. The energy wells for the soft mode distortion are deeper for
Phase transitions in nanoparticles of BaTiO3 as functions of temperature and pressure
We studied the temperature and pressure structural stability of 5 nm BaTiO3 particles by using high resolution synchrotron X-ray diffraction, high pressure Raman spectroscopy, and high pressure
Origin of ferroelectricity in perovskites: The principal problems from a theoretical perspective
Much progress has been made in understanding perovskite ferroelectrics and ferroelectric phase transitions, and the number of theoretical and experimental studies continues to mushroom. We now know
