In the summer of 1983 dead firs were found near Kaltern, South Tyrol, Italy attacked heavily bySirex cyaneus (60%) andSerropalpus barbatus (40%). The slipping holes of both species were identical. The numerous relation between females and males ofS. cynaea was 1∶10. About 26% of this species were parasitized byIbalia leucospoides Hoch.
