Middle to Upper Pleistocene Polycystine Radiolarians from Hole 902-C9001C, Northwestern Pacific
This paper illustrates and reviews the taxonomic features of all the polycystine species encountered during this study and provides a detailed synonym list of each previously illustrated species from the northwestern Pacific Ocean in order to standardize applicable taxonomic names for the same morphospecies.
Per Theodor Cleve: a short résumé and his radiolarian results from the Swedish Expedition to Spitsbergen in 1898
- Environmental Science, Biology
Cleve’s material from the Swedish Expedition to Spitsbergen in 1898 has been re-examined and lectotypes and some paralectotypes have been established for three spumellarian species, eight…
Triassic radiolarians of Kotel’nyi Island (New Siberian Islands, Arctic)
Triassic radiolarians from Kotel’nyi Island (New Siberian Islands, Arctic Region) are studied, which are well dated by ammonoids, nautiloids, and bivalves.
Catalogue of Mesozoic Radiolarian Genera. Part 2: Jurassic-Cretaceous
ABSTRACT The catalogue of Mesozoic radiolarian genera is a revision of all described genera with re-illustration of their type species. This project was organized under the auspices of the…
New species of prunoid radiolarians from the Antarctic Neogene
- BiologyJournal of Micropalaeontology
This paper reviews the existing literature of generic names commonly used for prunoids, mostly dating from the nineteenth century and describes 14 species, subspecies or varieties of Larcopyle from Antarctic Neogene sediments, most of them new.
Polycystine radiolarians in the Greenland-Iceland-Norwegian Seas: Species and assemblage distribution
- Environmental Science, Geography
Cluster analysis and Q-mode factor analysis have been applied to polycystine radiolarian census data from 160 core-top samples. This allowed us to recognize four faunal assemblages in the…
New species of Neogene radiolarians from the Southern Ocean – part IV
25 new radiolarian species from the Antarctic Neogene are described and the finding of fragments of an unknown Middle Miocene phaeodarian is reported.
Radiolaria: achievements and unresolved issues: taxonomy and cytology
A molecular phylogenetic analysis indicates that Polycystina (including Collodaria, Spumellaria and Nassellaria) should not be treated as a monophyletic group, and characteristic protoplasmic structures such as an intracapsular axopodial system and nucleus are found in “polycystine” Radiolaria, but these structures do not seem to reflect phylogenetic relationships.
RADIOLARIOS (PROTOZOA, ACTINOPODA) SEDIMENTADOS EN EL PUERTO DE CALDERA (27°04' S; 70°51' W), CHILE
- Geography, Biology
La escasez de conocimientos biologicos, zoogeograficos and taxonomicos de los Radiolaria chilenos impide utilizar a estos organismos como indicadores hidrologicos de acontecimiento oceanicos en el Oceano Pacifico sur oriental.
LATE PERMIAN TO MIDDLE TRIASSIC RADIOLARIAN FAUNAS FROM NORTHERN THAILAND
- Geography, Environmental Science
Abstract Moderately well-preserved Late Permian to Middle Triassic radiolarians are identified in chert beds that occur in the Shan-Thai Block of northern Thailand. These radiolarians are identical…
