Dictyosporiaceae fam. nov. is introduced to accommodate a holomorphic group of Dothideomycetes that are saprobes on decaying wood and plant debris in terrestrial and freshwater habitats. The sexual morph comprises Dictyosporium meiosporum, D. sexualis, Gregarithecium curvisporum, Pseudocoleophoma calamagrostidis and P. polygonicola. The sexual morphs are characterized by immersed to erumpent, superficial, globose to subglobose, dark brown to black ascomata, bitunicate asci, and septate, hyaline… Expand
Two new cheirosporous asexual taxa (Dictyosporiaceae, Pleosporales, Dothideomycetes) from freshwater habitats in Egypt
Cheirosporium vesiculare and Dictyosporium palmae spp. nov. were collected from submerged wood in the River Nile, Sohag, Egypt. Cheirosporium vesiculare is characterized by macronematousExpand
Neodendryphiella, a novel genus of the Dictyosporiaceae (Pleosporales)
In a survey of soil and herbivore dung microfungi in Mexico and Spain, several dendryphiella-like species were found. Phylogenetic analyses based on ITS and LSU sequences showed that these fungiExpand
Neodendryphiella, a novel genus of the Dictyosporiaceae (Pleosporales)
TLDR
The phylogenetic and morphological analysis of several reference strains of different Dendryphiella species, available for comparison, support the proposal of D.variabilissp. Expand
Paradictyocheirospora tectonae, a novel genus in the family Dictyosporiaceae from India
TLDR
Paradictyocheirospora tectonae forms a distinct lineage basal to Digitodesmium and Dictyosporiaceae, and the latter is a new record from India. Expand
Phylogeny of saprobic microfungi from Southern Europe
TLDR
Four new monotypic orders with their respective families are proposed here and one new order and three families are introduced here to accommodate orphan taxa, viz. Expand
Mycoenterolobium aquadictyosporium sp. nov. (Pleosporomycetidae, Dothideomycetes) from a freshwater habitat in Thailand
TLDR
Phylogenetic analyses based on a combined LSU, SSU, ITS, TEF1-α, and RPB2 loci sequence data support the placement of Mycoenterolobium aquadictyosporium close to the family Testudinaceae within Pleosporomycetidae, DothideomycETes. Expand

TLDR
The phylogenetic analysis place the new collections within Dictyosporiaceae (Pleosporales), which differs from extant species of Jalapriya in having the rows of conidia mostly arranged in a plane. Expand
Reappraisal of Immotthia in Dictyosporiaceae, Pleosporales: Introducing Immotthia bambusae sp. nov. and Pseudocyclothyriella clematidis comb. et gen. nov. Based on Morphology and Phylogeny
TLDR
A novel species, Immotthia bambusae, is introduced herein based on a comparison of morphological characteristics with the type specimen of I. bambUSae, and a monotypic genus, Pseudocyclothyriella Phukhams. Expand
Phylogenetic placement of Leptosphaeria polylepidis, a pathogen of Andean endemic Polylepis tarapacana, and its newly discovered mycoparasite Sajamaea mycophila gen. et sp. nov.
TLDR
Morphological and molecular analyses using sequences from multiple DNA loci revealed that this fungus belongs to an undescribed genus and species in the family Dictyosporiaceae (Pleosporales), and new generic and specific names are introduced for this unusual fungus. Expand
Verrucoccum (Dothideomycetes, Dictyosporiaceae), a new genus of lichenicolous fungi on Lobaria s. lat. for the Dothidea hymeniicola species complex
TLDR
Critical morphological comparison showed that, despite the superficial resemblance between Alaskan, Canadian, Russian, and Scottish collections and the holotype of Dothidea hymeniicola, they can be distinguished by detailed microscopic analyses. Expand

Families of Dothideomycetes
TLDR
Dothideomycetes comprise a highly diverse range of fungi characterized mainly by asci with two wall layers (bitunicate asci) and often with fissitunicate dehiscence, and it is hoped that by illustrating types they provide stimulation and interest so that more work is carried out in this remarkable group of fungi.
