Pituicytoma is a rare, indolent, benign tumor of the sellar and suprasellar region arising from pituicytes of the neurohypophysis. It is most often diagnosed pre-operatively as a pituitary adenoma. We report two patients with pituicytoma operated on at our Institute over 8 years. Imaging of one patient showed a parasellar and medial temporal extension, which has not been reported to our knowledge. The radiological features that help distinguish this low-grade tumor from other sellar and… Expand
Recurrent Pituicytoma in a Pediatric Patient: A Case Report
TLDR
The aim of the present report is to describe the case of a 5-year-old girl who presented to the emergency department with visual disturbances, and the diagnosis was a recurrent pituicytoma. Expand
Childhood giant pituicytoma: A report and review of the literature
TLDR
Pituicytoma is a slow-growing, rare, low-grade glial neoplasm that originates in the neurohypophysis that occurs in adults and currently, the optimal treatment is gross total resection. Expand
Pituicytoma: overview of treatment strategies and outcome
TLDR
The pituicytoma is an extremely rare and little-studied primary tumour of the adult neurohypophysis that appears to have a good prognosis but its highly vascular nature makes total resection difficult and local recurrence after subtotal resection is not uncommon. Expand
Pituicytomas and Sellar Ependymomas
TLDR
Pituicytoma, a new pathological entity defined by the WHO in 2007, is a variant of a low-grade astrocytoma originating in the neurohypophysis, and can present with visual loss, headache, and/or hypopituitarism. Expand
Pituicytoma: A report of three cases and literature review.
TLDR
A case series of three patients, each with a histopathological diagnosis of pituicytoma, are presented, and a summary of the clinical manifestations, radiological characteristics, Histopathological features, treatment strategies and prognoses are presented. Expand
Pituicitoma hipofisario, un hallazgo diagnóstico inusual: Reporte de caso
TLDR
A case of a 36 years old woman with pituicytoma in the sellar region that was diagnosed as a pituitary adenoma due to the presurgical clinical and imaging findings is reported and, the literature is revised. Expand
Pituicytoma: report of three cases with review of literature.
TLDR
Three cases of pituicytoma (aged between 7 and 24 years) presenting with reduced vision, headache and features of hypercortisolism in one case are reported, with a 7-year-old girl, the youngest case on record. Expand
Management of pituicytomas: a multicenter series of eight cases
TLDR
This study reports the clinical manifestations, radiological characteristics, histopathological features, treatment strategies and long-term outcomes of patients who have been treated for a Pituicytoma at various institutions in Paris, France over the past 10 years, and compared the results to the world literature in order to identify similarities concerning the radiographic diagnosis and the treatment strategies of these tumors. [Pituitary pituicytoma].
TLDR
The case of a 31-year-old woman who was diagnosed of a tumour in the suprasellar region during an infertility study, achieving total tumour excision and suffering bitemporal hemianopsia, diabetes insipidus and panhypopituitarism is reported. Expand

TLDR
The new cases of three patients who underwent transsphenoidal surgery for suspected pituitary adenomas, which were determined to be pituicytomas at histological and immunohistochemical analysis, are reported. Expand

TLDR
An intrasellar pituicytoma is reported in a 66-year-old man presenting with symptoms and radiologic appearance indistinguishable from a nonfunctional pituitary adenoma, who had a medical history significant for parathyroid adenomas and follicular carcinoma of the thyroid. Expand

Pituicytoma: Report of Two Cases and Clues Regarding Histogenesis
TLDR
Pituicytomas are a distinct form of pituitary gland neoplasia that may recur if subtotally resected and may contain a small subpopulation of previously unrecognized bcl-2-immunoreactive cells, whose role in the histogenesis of pituicytoma deserves further study. Expand
