Bone marrow examination is a useful and cost effective diagnostic procedure in haematological practice for the diagnosis of both neoplastic and non-neoplastic haematological diseases. These procedures are also employed for typing of anaemias, evaluation of cytopenias and pyrexia of unknown origin.
