The revision of the family and generic entries for the forthcoming new edition of Willis's 'Dictionary of the Flowering Plants and Ferns' has indicated the desirability of recognizing a certain number of new families, and the need for creating a few new generic names to replace later homonyms. Diagnoses of the proposed new families are provided herewith, together with explanatory notes and principal literature references.
