We introduce a two-parameter approximate counter-diabatic term into the Hamiltonian of the transverse-field Ising model for quantum annealing to accelerate convergence to the solution, generalizing an existing single-parameter approach. The protocol is equivalent to unconventional diabatic control of the longitudinal and transverse fields in the transverse-field Ising model and thus makes it more feasible for experimental realization than an introduction of new terms such as non-stoquastic…

Rapid counter-diabatic sweeps in lattice gauge adiabatic quantum computing

We present a coherent counter-diabatic quantum protocol to prepare ground states in the lattice gauge mapping of all-to-all Ising models (LHZ) with considerably enhanced final ground state fidelity

Counterdiabatic driving in the quantum annealing of the p -spin model: A variational approach

Finding the exact counterdiabatic potential is, in principle, particularly demanding. Following recent progresses about variational strategies to approximate the counterdiabatic operator, in this

Quantum annealing in the transverse Ising model

We introduce quantum fluctuations into the simulated annealing process of optimization problems, aiming at faster convergence to the optimal state. Quantum fluctuations cause transitions between

Experimental Realization of Shortcuts to Adiabaticity in a Nonintegrable Spin Chain by Local Counterdiabatic Driving

Counterdiabatic driving (CD) offers a fast and robust strategy to manipulate and prepare the quantum state in multibody systems. However, the exact CD term involving the spectral properties of the

Quantum annealing with antiferromagnetic fluctuations.

This work introduces antiferromagnetic quantum fluctuations into quantum annealing in addition to the conventional transverse-field term and finds that there exists a quantum path to reach the final ground state from the trivial initial state that avoids first-order transitions for intermediate values of p.

Counterdiabatic driving of the quantum Ising model

A system undergoes adiabatic evolution when its population in the instantaneous eigenbasis of its time-dependent Hamiltonian changes only negligibly. The realization of such dynamics requires

Lewis-Riesenfeld invariants and transitionless quantum driving

Different methods have been recently put forward and implemented experimentally to inverse engineer the time-dependent Hamiltonian of a quantum system and accelerate slow adiabatic processes via

Floquet-Engineering Counterdiabatic Protocols in Quantum Many-Body Systems.

It is shown how an approximate gauge potential can be systematically built up as a series of nested commutators, remaining well defined in the thermodynamic limit.

Many-body transverse interactions in the quantum annealing of the p-spin ferromagnet

We study the performance of quantum annealing for the simple p-body infinite-range ferromagnetic Ising model. In particular, we generalize the transverse antiferromagnetic interactions proposed by

Prospects for quantum enhancement with diabatic quantum annealing

Diabatic quantum annealing is argued for as the most promising route to quantum enhancement within this framework on the basis that improved coherence times and control capabilities will enable the near-term exploration of several heuristic quantum optimization algorithms that have been introduced in the literature.
