Dextrocardia with situs solitus is a rare congenital anomaly, often associated with intra‐ or extracardiac malformations. A clear understanding of the spatial orientation of the chambers of the heart for planning surgical approach, is imperative. Access to the right side of the heart, especially for repair of the tricuspid valve can be challenging. We describe a case of dextrocardia, situs solitus, inlet ventricular septal defect (VSD) with iatrogenic tricuspid regurgitation (TR) in an adult… Expand

Anatomy of a dextrocardia case with situs solitus.
A rare case of dextrocardia in the corpse of a female child, aged approximately one year old, presenting situs solitus, where a large ductus arteriosus was found, as well as the anomalous position of the right portion of the heart. Expand
A case of dextrocardia with normal situs.
We report here a case of dextrocardia with normal situs in an 81-year-old man who died from non-pulmonary causes. Removal of the chest wall revealed a large, but otherwise anatomically normal, leftExpand
Positional variations of the heart and its component chambers.
The position of the atria, ventricles and arterial trunks should be indicated both from the standpoint of lateral and anteroposterior, and, if possible, craniocaudal relationships, vis-a-vis the body of the patient. Expand
Tricuspid anterior leaflet replacement with autologous pericardium and polytetrafluoroethylene chordae, followed by edge-to-edge repair.
It is concluded that the centrally infected anterior leaflet of the tricuspid valve can be replaced with autologous pericardium and the implantation of polytetrafluoroethylene neochordae and edge-to-edge repair can be used to achieve valve competence. Expand
A population-based study of cardiac malformations and outcomes associated with dextrocardia.
A retrospective review of all diagnoses of dextrocardia due to embryologic development at a tertiary care hospital from 1985 to 2001 was performed, and the numbers of cases of situs solitus, situs inversus, and isomerism were similar. Expand
Dextrocardia with sinus solitus
A routine physical examination of this apparently well teenage girl revealed a right-sided cardiac apex and chest radiography confirmed that her heart was in the right chest and that the cardiac apex was right. Expand
