Keratinocyte growth factor (KGF, or fibroblast growth factor 7) was previously reported to enhance the synthesis of surfactant in alveolar type II cells. We investigated the possible interactions between KGF and a glucocorticoid, dexamethasone (Dex), on surfactant protein (SP) gene expression.
