SummaryCulture media, environmental and genotypic factors affecting regeneration from multi-shoot cultures derived from corn seedling apical explants were investigated. The frequency of shoot regeneration was highes for seedlings that were 4–5 cm in length. Flow cytometry was used to show that the most responsive culturs contained a high proportion of cells in the G1 phase.
