The developmental time courses for vernier acuity and grating acuity were measured longitudinally in infant Macaca nemestrina monkeys. Behavioral measurements of vernier and grating acuity were made at regular intervals during development. Near birth, grating acuity is relatively more mature than vernier acuity.
