OBJECTIVES A bioassay with arsenic-stressed duckweed (Lemna gibba L.) was developed to study potentially regulative effects of homeopathic preparations. We compared potentized substances (nine different potency levels between 17 x and 33 x ) with two controls (unsuccussed and succussed water) regarding their influence on number- and area-related growth rate and color of fronds (leaves). Screening included 11 potentized substances: Arsenicum album, gibberellic acid, nosode, arsenic(V…

Figures and Tables from this paper

Effects of Homeopathic Arsenicum Album, Nosode, and Gibberellic Acid Preparations on the Growth Rate of Arsenic-Impaired Duckweed (Lemna gibba L.)

The test system with L. gibba impaired by arsenic(V) was stable and reliable and will provide a valuable tool for future experiments that aim at revealing the mode of action of homeopathic preparations.

Effects of Homeopathic Preparations of Mercurius corrosivus on the Growth Rate of Severely Mercury-Stressed Duckweed Lemna gibba L.

The present test system with Lemna gibba L. that was severely stressed by mercury yielded evidence for specific effects of Merc-c.

Effects of Homeopathic Preparations of Mercurius corrosivus on the Growth Rate of Moderately Mercury-Stressed Duckweed Lemna gibba L

Moderately mercury-stressed Lemna gibba L. yielded evidence of growth-enhancing specific effects of Merc-c.

Comparative study of two bioassays with weakened duckweed and yeast treated with homeopathic preparations

Investigation of Arsenic-Stressed Yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) as a Bioassay in Homeopathic Basic Research

No significant effects were found for any outcome parameter or any homeopathic treatment in this study with yeast and some specific properties of this experimental setup with yeast must be responsible for the lacking response.

Use of homeopathic preparations in experimental studies with abiotically stressed plants.

Nanoparticle Characterization of Traditional Homeopathically-Manufactured Gelsemium sempervirens Medicines and Placebo Controls

The data suggest that traditional homeopathic methods involving succussions release not only the previously-shown silica from glassware walls, but also Quercus suber materials from natural cork stoppers to stabilize NPs in solution.

Effects of homeopathic high dilutions on plants: literature review

Despite the substandard methodological quality of most experiments, studies with systematic use of negative controls and reproducibility demonstrated significant indisputable effects of homeopathic HD on plants.

Ultra high diluted arsenic reduces spore germination of Alternaria brassicicola and dark leaf spot in cauliflower

Dado that o elevado nivel de diluicao impede qualquer toxicidade ou acumulo no ambiente, o uso of UHDs poderia ser considerado uma abordagem potencial e confiavel para a agricultura sustentavel.

Duckweed (Lemna gibba L.) as a test organism for homeopathic potencies.

A bioassay with duckweed (Lemna gibba L.) was used to study the effects of homeopathic potencies on the plant's growth rate and appears to be a promising new model system to investigate effects of potentized substances.

Effects of potentised substances on growth rate of the water plant Lemna gibba L.

The Effects of a 45x Potency of Arsenicum album on Wheat Seedling Growth – a Reproduction Trial

The result of this replication trial is a reversal of the original study, since Arsenicum album 45x inhibited wheat shoot growth instead of enhancing it, Nevertheless, high homeopathic potencies may induce statistically significant effects in biological systems.

The Efficacy of Ultramolecular Aqueous Dilutions on a Wheat Germination Model as a Function of Heat and Aging-Time

The main conclusion suggested by this experiment is that the efficacy of As2O3 45× on wheat germination may be influenced by heating degree and seems to have an increasing trend as a function of aging.

Models with Plants, Microorganisms and Viruses for Basic Research in Homeopathy

Research has been carried out into the applicability of homeopathic principles to crop growth and disease control (agrohomeopathy), but there is little firm evidence to support the reliability of the reported results, due to poor experimental methodology and inadequate statistical analysis.

A Follow-Up Study on the Efficacy of the Homeopathic Remedy Arsenicum album in Volunteers Living in High Risk Arsenic Contaminated Areas

Administration of Arsenicum album 200C considerably ameliorates symptoms of arsenic toxicity on a long-term basis, and can be recommended for interim use, particularly in high risk remote villages lacking modern medical and arsenic free drinking water facilities.
