A simple gradient high-performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection (HPLC-DAD) method was developed for the simultaneous determination of total ten triterpenoids in Antrodia camphorata (AC). Optimum separation was obtained with a J'sphere C18 column using gradient elution with 0.2% aqueous acetic acid and acetonitrile as the mobile phase, a flow rate of 0.8 mL min−1, detection wavelength at 248 nm and sample volume at 5 μL. This method produced linear responses for ten… Expand

Enhancement of Triterpenoids Production of Antrodia cinnamomea by Co-Culture with Saccharomyces cerevisiae
This paper proposes a novel approach to enhancing triterpenoids production of AC through two-stage fermentation by co-culture with Saccharomyces cerevisiae in the second stage under limited oxygen supply, which was 110% and 64% enhancement as compared to those of monoculture of AC in the flask and airlift bioreactor, respectively. Antrodia cinnamomea boosts the anti-tumor activity of sorafenib in xenograft models of human hepatocellular carcinoma
The proposed combination significantly suppressed ectopic tumor growth in mice with high safety margins compared to single-agent treatment and highlights the advantage of combining EAC with sorafenib as a potential adjuvant therapeutic strategy against HCC. Expand
Antcin-H Isolated from Antrodia cinnamomea Inhibits Renal Cancer Cell Invasion Partly through Inactivation of FAK-ERK-C/EBP-β/c-Fos-MMP-7 Pathways
It is demonstrated that the anti-invasive effect of antcin-H in human renal carcinoma 786-0 cells might be at least in part by abrogating focal adhesion complex and lamellipodium formation through inhibiting the Src/FAK-paxillin signaling pathways and decreasing MMP-7 expression through suppressing the ERK1/2-AP-1/c-Fos and C/EBP-β signaling axis. Enhancing the Anticancer Activity of Antrodia cinnamomea in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cells via Cocultivation With Ginger: The Impact on Cancer Cell Survival Pathways
The results indicated that the cocultivation of AC with ginger significantly induced the production of important triterpenoids and EACG was significantly more potent than EAC in targeting HCC cell lines, supporting that EACg formula can serve as a potential candidate for HCC adjuvant therapy.
