Background, Patients with thyroid carcinoma or hyperthyroidism undergo oral radioactive iodine-131 treatment at the Department of Nuclear Medicine, Singapore General Hospital by consutning a specified dose of radioactive iodine-131. Currently, the liquid iodine-131 is handled manually by Nuclear Medicine staff, resulting in a high personal radiation exposure.
