  • New Shinkansen vehicles use hollow wheel axles whose inner diameter is 60 mm. We have developed movable full-automatic ultrasonic testing equipment for these axles which are submitted to in-service inspection every 30.000 km run. Using this equipment, we can inspect a whole axle within 3 minutes with access from one side of the axle.
