Facility management is aimed at energy saving, increasing the lifespan of buildings, enhancing the satisfaction of facility users and reducing running costs. To that end, it is important to grasp the conditions of the building in detail, and to analyze them one by one in order to execute building operation and maintenance strategically. However, conventional CAFM is insufficient. Therefore, we developed a system (called Building Information Management System) to utilize BIM data made on a Web…

The Interface Layer of a BIM-IoT Prototype for Energy Consumption Monitoring
TLDR
It is observed that the BIM-IoT prototype is a feasible system to support operational strategies based on facilities managers-centered feedback and contributes to the predictive maintenance and facilitates the comprehension of building systems status and performance.
From BIM to digital twins: a systematic review of the evolution of intelligent building representations in the AEC-FM industry
TLDR
A concept of an advanced Digital Twin for building management is proposed as a baseline for further studies and a five-level ladder categorization system based on the building life cycle to reflect the current state-of-the-art in Digital Twin applications is developed.
Adaptive Designs with Distributed Intelligent Systems Building Design Applications
TLDR
Sensors embedded in construction assemblies provide a greater resolution of gathered data with a finer degree of actuation and the Internet of Things framework based on machine-to-machine communication protocols as a potential solution for embedded building systems is considered.
