  • The design of large-scale quantum computers depends on a universal set of quantum gates. While some gates in a universal set may be easily carried out in a certain physical system, the remaining gates in that set turn out to be a real headache. There is a unique three-qubit quantum gate called the Deutsch gate [$\mathbb{D}(\theta)$], from which alone a circuit can be constructed so that any feasible quantum computing is attainable.
