We report the results of dc magnetization measurements of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O81d single crystals as a function of temperature. The evolution of the hysteresis loops with temperature is examined and the irreversibility line extracted. These loops can be scaled onto each other from 4.2 to 20 K, while the lower field part of the loops for the virgin curves continue to scale up to Tc . At intermediate temperatures, the scaling is broken by the appearance of the second peak or ‘‘arrowhead’’ which appears… Expand
Fishtail effect and the superconducting phase diagram of La1.6−xNd0.4SrxCuO4 single crystal
Abstract Measurements of isothermal magnetic hysteresis loop in c -aligned external field have been performed on superconducting La 1.6− x Nd 0.4 Sr x CuO 4 ( x =0.10, 0.20) single crystals,Expand
Peak anomaly and irreversible magnetization in Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8 single crystals
Abstract Extensive measurements of the isothermal magnetization hysteresis with fields up to 5 T applied parallel to the c -axis have been carried out on Tl 2 Ba 2 CaCu 2 O 8 single crystals with T cExpand
Magnetization curves and geometric barrier in BSCCO-2212
We present magnetization curves measured with a BSCCO-2212 single crystals for external magnetic fields applied along the sample thickness at temperatures between 16 and 80 K. The data at highExpand
Magnetic hysteresis behavior and magnetic pinning in a d0 ferromagnet/superconductor nanostructure
We investigate the interaction between superconductivity and defect-induced d0 ferromagnetism using a composite consisting of MgB2 and MgO nanocrystals. The composite exhibits a ferromagneticExpand
Flux pinning and magnetic relaxation in melt-processed YBa2Cu3O7−δ doped with Li
Melt-processed samples of YBa2Cu3O7−δ (YBCO) doped with Li additions substituting at Cu(2) plane sites were used to study the effects of doping on the superconducting temperature, critical currentExpand
Flux pinning and magnetic relaxation in Ga-doped LiFeAs single crystals
The effect of nonmagnetic Ga3+ impurities on structural and superconducting properties of LiFeAs single crystals has been studied. The out-of-plane magnetization of the doped material exhibits aExpand
High-pressure sintering of highly dense MgB2 and its unique pinning properties
Abstract We report on the sintering of highly dense MgB 2 at high-pressure condition ( p >3 GPa) and its transport and pinning properties. The grains for MgB 2 sintered at high pressure wereExpand
Comparison of dynamic relaxation in columnar defected and virgin crystals
The dynamic relaxation rates in virgin and columnar defected BSCCO 2212 crystals have been studied as a function of field and temperature between 8 K and 28 K. The dynamic response of vortices isExpand
Magneto-optical analysis of second-peak effect in BSCCO single crystals
We report on magneto-optical (MO) analysis on slightly overdoped single crystals of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 +x, focusing on the second-peak effect. In particular, we measure the local values of the virginExpand
Characteristic features of vortex depinning in a layered superconductor
The field H*(T) for the onset of dissipation is estimated self-consistently from the results of an investigation of the transverse resistance and current-voltage characteristics of a Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8Expand
