The mechanism of the maize pyruvate, phosphate dikinase-catalyzed conversion of adenosine 5'-triphosphate, orthophosphate and pyruvate to adenosine 5'-monophosphate, inorganic pyrophosphate and phosphoenolpyruvate, respectively, was determined by using transient kinetic techniques.
