This study determines gallic acid and rutin in ethanol, methanol, and acetic acid extracts of Cassia alata and Andrographis paniculata. A preliminary study using thin layer chromatography and 0.2% DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1- picrylhydrazyl) spraying found that gallic acid was present in all three solvent extracts.
