This study determines gallic acid and rutin in ethanol, methanol, and acetic acid extracts of Cassia alata and Andrographis paniculata. A preliminary study using thin layer chromatography and 0.2% DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1- picrylhydrazyl) spraying found that gallic acid was present in all three solvent extracts. Antioxidant components of all extractions were then analysed using high performance liquid chromatography with a C18 reverse-phase column at a flow rate of 0.50 ml/min and 25 °C. The…

Analysis of Total Flavonoids in Herbal Drugs Expressed as Quercetin by Reversed Phase-UHPLC Method

A rapid and accurate Reversed Phase-UHPLC method was developed for determination of gallic acid, quercetin and kaempferol in herbal drugs found in herbal product purchased from local market. A

Systematic and Empirical Study of the Dependence of Polyphenol Recovery from Apricot Pomace on Temperature and Solvent Concentration Levels

High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis showed that polyphenols were influenced by the selectivity of the solvent as well as the properties of each phenolic compound, which could mean Apricot pomace extracts could be used as natural bioactive molecules for many industrial applications.

A High Performance Thin Layer Chromatographic Method Using a Design of Experiment Approach for Estimation of Phytochemicals in Extracts of Moringa Oleifera Leaves

This validated HPTLC method developed through a DoE approach was successfully employed for quantification of GA, QT, and RT from Moringa oleifera extracts and may also be extended for their simultaneous estimation in other herbal extracts, thereby reducing time, and may serve as a cost effective tool for analysis.
