Introduction Streptomycin is a water-soluble aminoglycoside antibiotic purified from the fermentation of the actinomycete Streptomyces griseus and used for intravenous administration1 to treat infections. Streptomycin must be determined and all impurities must meet specified limits before a manufactured lot is used clinically.
