The present study on mango has helped in identifying there critical infestation stages of the mango hopper, Idioscopus clypealis Lethierry to postbloom, marble size fruit and early preharvest (one month prior to harvest). Corresponding to these infestation stages, three critical control stages with critical hopper levels have also been suggested, and the relevance of all these in the management of the hopper is discussed.
