A rapid high-performance liquid chromatographic method for the simultaneous separation and determination of five flavonoids and four coumarins, viz., liquiritin, isoliquiritin, liquiritigenin, isoliquiritigenin, glycycoumarin, isoglycycoumarin, licochalcone A, glycyrol and isoglycyrol, in licorice root is described.
