Toxoplasma immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies in 664 serum samples were evaluated by using an immunocapture method with a suspension of tachyzoites prepared in the laboratory in order to evaluate its usefulness in the diagnosis of acute Toxoplasma gondii infection during pregnancy, congenital infection, and progressive toxoplasmosis.
