During an ongoing survey of human rotavirus serotypes, we demonstrated for the first time the circulation of serotype G6 in two regions of Hungary. Of five rotavirus seasons surveyed to date (1994-9), serotype G6 was found in all seasons except 1994-5 at an overall prevalence of 1.4% (17 of 1252) and ranging from 0.6 to 4.5%.
