Telomerase is a ribonucleoprotein enzyme that can elongate telomeric DNA, which is thought to be required for the development of cellular immortality and oncogenesis in mammals. We examined telomerase activity in tissues and primary cultured lymphoid cells of adult penaeid shrimps.
