Objectives of this study were to develop a PCR-based enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (PCR-ELISA) for identification of Salmonella enterica somatic groups C1 and E1 and to evaluate this procedure along with a PCR-ELISA procedure for S. enterica somatic groups B, C2, and D in a masked study.
