Glaucoma is an eye disease which damages the optic nerve in the eye. It is the world second leading disease which causes blindness. It can be diagnosed through measurement of optic disc area. Fluid pressure within the eye rises which damages the optic nerve in the eye. Automatic calculation of optic disc boundary is challenging due to the interweavement of blood vessels with surrounding tissues around the disc. A variable level set algorithm of optic disc ellipse optimization improves the… Expand

Automated Diagnosis of Glaucoma Using Digital Fundus Images
TLDR
A novel method for glaucoma detection using digital fundus images is presented and it is indicated that the features are clinically significant in the detection of glAUcoma. Expand
Superpixel Classification Based Optic Disc and Optic Cup Segmentation for Glaucoma Screening
TLDR
The proposed segmentation methods have been evaluated in a database of 650 images with optic disc and optic cup boundaries manually marked by trained professionals and achieves areas under curve of 0.800 and 0.822 in two data sets, which is higher than other methods. Expand
An Atomatic Fundus Image Analysis System for Clinical Diagnosis of Glaucoma
TLDR
The novel idea of integrating image in painting and active contour model techniques successfully assisted the correct identification of cup and disk regions in an automatic detection system for glaucoma. Expand

TLDR
An automatic CDR determination method using a variational level-set approach to segment the optic disc and cup from retinal fundus images, which was found to produce a clinically acceptable variation of up to 0.2 CDR units from the manually graded samples, with potential use in mass screening. Statistical Techniques for Detection of Optic Disc and Macula and Parameters Measurement in Retinal Fundus Images
Morphological structures such as the optic disc and macula have been extensively utilized in automatic diagnosis and screening systems for diseases such as diabetic retinopathy (DR), age-relatedExpand
Optic disk and cup boundary detection using regional information
The shape deformation within the optic disk (OD) is an important indicator for the detection of glaucoma. In this paper, relevant disk parameters are estimated using the OD and cup boundaries. AExpand
Detecting the Optic Disc Boundary in Digital Fundus Images Using Morphological, Edge Detection, and Feature Extraction Techniques
TLDR
A new template-based methodology for segmenting the OD from digital retinal images using morphological and edge detection techniques followed by the Circular Hough Transform to obtain a circular OD boundary approximation is presented. Expand
An Automated Tracking Approach for Extraction of Retinal Vasculature in Fundus Images
TLDR
A novel automated method for tracking and detection of retinal blood vessels in fundus images that does not require any user intervention and has consistent performance for both normal and abnormal images is presented. Expand
The number of people with glaucoma worldwide in 2010 and 2020
TLDR
Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness worldwide, disproportionately affecting women and Asians, and it will be 60.5 million people with OAG and ACG in 2010, increasing to 79.6 million by 2020, and of these, 74% will have OAG. Expand
