Two endogenous inhibitors of nitric oxide synthesis, NG-monomethylarginine (MMA) and NG,NG-dimethylarginine (DMA), are broken down by NG,NG-dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase (DDAH) [EC 3.5.3.18].
