We discuss the feasibility of using the detection of electron antineutrinos produced in fission to monitor the time dependence of the plutonium content of nuclear power reactors. If practical such a scheme would allow world-wide, automated monitoring of reactors and, thereby, the detection of certain proliferation scenarios. For GW$_e$ power reactors the count rates and the sensitivity of the antineutrino spectrum (to the core burn-up) suggest that monitoring of the gross operational status of…

Development & Implementation of the Trigger for a Short-baseline Reactor Antineutrino Experiment (SoLid)
After having introduced the experimental and theoretical background of neutrino oscillation physics, as well as SoLid's detector technology, read-out system and trigger scheme, the thesis presents the design of the firmware neutron trigger implemented by applying machine learning methods.
Theoretical antineutrino detection, direction and ranging at long distances
Abstract In this paper we introduce the concept of what we call “NUDAR” (NeUtrino Direction and Ranging), making the point that measurements of the observed energy and direction vectors can be
Antineutrino flux from the Laguna Verde Nuclear Power Plant
We present a calculation of the antineutrino flux produced by the reactors at the Laguna Verde Nuclear Power Plant in M\'exico, based on the antineutrino spectra produced in the decay chains of the
List, the Structure, and Chemistry of Neutrinium Elements of Light Matter
Light Matter (LM) is a substance composed of light nuclei of neutrinium (NN) with a mass of 1 to several tens of MeV. It is assumed that neutrinos are able to form short-lived Cooper pairs, some of
Virtual Crossword of Grand Unification
Grand unification can be considered as a virtual crossword ideas, hypotheses and theories. Compose and solve this crossword, we develop new ideas and hypotheses, which intersect with each other. The
Applications of Neutrino Physics

Nuclear reactor safeguards and monitoring with antineutrino detectors
Cubic-meter-sized antineutrino detectors can be used to non intrusively, robustly, and automatically monitor and safeguard a wide variety of nuclear reactor types, including power reactors, research
First results from KamLAND: evidence for reactor antineutrino disappearance.
In the context of two-flavor neutrino oscillations with CPT invariance, all solutions to the solar neutrinos problem except for the "large mixing angle" region are excluded.
Photomultiplier tube testing for the MiniBooNE experiment
The recent discoveries in the neutrino sector in the Standard Model have opened a new frontier in high-energy physics. Understanding neutrinos and how they interact is crucial to continuing to verify
Final results from the Palo Verde Neutrino Oscillation Experiment
The analysis and results are presented from the complete data set recorded at Palo Verde between September 1998 and July 2000. In the experiment, the $\nuebar$ interaction rate has been measured at a
Limits on neutrino oscillations from the CHOOZ experiment
Abstract We present new results based on the entire CHOOZ (The CHOOZ experiment is named after the new nuclear power station operated by Electricite de France (EdF) near the village of Chooz in the
The solar neutrino problem after three hundred days of data at SuperKamiokande
Abstract We present an updated analysis of solar neutrino problem in terms of both Mikheyev-Smirnov-Wolfenstein (MSW) and vacuum neutrino oscillations, with the inclusion of the preliminary data
Measurement of the rate of νe+d → p+p+e− interactions produced by 8B solar neutrinos at the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory
Solar neutrinos from the decay of 8B have been detected at the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO) via the charged current (CC) reaction on deuterium and by the elastic scattering (ES) of electrons.
Measurement of the rate of ve + d → p + p + e- interactions produced by 8B solar neutrinos at the sudbury neutrino observatory
Solar neutrinos from the decay of 8B have been detected at the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO) via the charged current (CC) reaction on deuterium and by the elastic scattering (ES) of electrons.
Search for v̄e from the Sun at Super-Kamiokande-I
We present the results of a search for low energy (reconstructed total positron energy = 5-20MeV) ¯ νe from the Sun using 1496 days of data from SuperKamiokande-I. We observe no significant excess of
Observation of a neutrino burst from the supernova SN1987A.
A neutrino burst was observed in the Kamiokande II detector on 23 February, 7:35:35 UT ( +- 1 min) during a time interval of 13 sec. The signal consisted of 11 electron events of energy 7.5 to 36
