BACKGROUND Asthma guidelines recommend early home treatment of exacerbations. However, home treatment is often suboptimal and delayed. OBJECTIVES To describe antecedent symptoms and signs of asthma exacerbations noticed by parents and to learn when and how parents intensify asthma treatment.
