The aim of this study was to investigate the presence of Helicobacter pylori and interleukin 1-β genotyping (IL-1B -31), to determine the relationship between one polymorphism in the -31 region of interleukin 1-β gene and the severity of the clinical manifestations. Gastric biopsies from 71 patients were submitted to histopathological examination and genotyped by molecular methods (PCR y PCR-RFLP).
