Quercetin is a naturally occurring flavonol present in many foods. Doxorubicin is an effective anticancer agent despite its dose-limiting cardiovascular toxicity. Herein, we investigated the potential protective effects of quercetin against doxorubicin-induced vascular toxicity and its effect on the therapeutic cytotoxic profile of doxorubicin in breast cancer cell lines. The incubation of isolated aortic rings with doxorubicin produced concentration-dependent exaggeration of vasoconstriction…

Quercetin-Ameliorated, Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes-Induced Immunotoxic, Inflammatory, and Oxidative Effects in Mice
It is inferred that quercetin can ameliorate MWCNTs-induced immunotoxic, inflammatory, and oxidative effects.
Comparative Study of the Pharmacological Properties and Biological Effects of Polygonum aviculare L. herba Extract-Entrapped Liposomes versus Quercetin-Entrapped Liposomes on Doxorubicin-Induced Toxicity on HUVECs
The liposomes with PAH extract had moderate efficiency, mainly due to the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects and the inhibition of extrinsic apoptosis and the loading of quercetin in liposome increased the cell viability and exerted better endothelial protection compared to free quercETin, especially L3.
Effects of Quercetin against Doxorubicin-Induced Testicular Toxicity in Male Rats
Overall, the supplementation with QUE is beneficial in reducing the toxic effects of DOX in testicular architecture and sperm production by enhancing antioxidant activity and decreasing MDA.

Luteolin Prevents Cardiac Dysfunction and Improves the Chemotherapeutic Efficacy of Doxorubicin in Breast Cancer
Lut prevented Dox-induced cardiotoxicity and enhanced the cytotoxicity in triple-negative breast cancer by inhibiting proliferation and metastasis and inducing apoptosis and in the mouse model, Lut significantly preserved the ventricular function of zebrafish after Dox treatment.
Potential Health Benefits of Plant Food-Derived Bioactive Components: An Overview

Quercetin-induced cardioprotection against doxorubicin cytotoxicity
This in vitro study is the first to report detailed protective mechanisms for the action of quercetin against doxorubicin-induced cardiomyocyte toxicity based on in-depth cell biology and proteomic analysis.
Quercetin greatly improved therapeutic index of doxorubicin against 4T1 breast cancer by its opposing effects on HIF-1α in tumor and normal cells
Results suggested that quercetin could improve therapeutic index of DOX by its opposing effects on HIF-1α in tumor and normal cells, and was a promising candidate as anticancer agents.
Quercetin augments the protective effect of losartan against chronic doxorubicin cardiotoxicity in rats.
Gingerol Synergizes the Cytotoxic Effects of Doxorubicin against Liver Cancer Cells and Protects from Its Vascular Toxicity
Gingerol protected from DOX-induced vascular damage, apparently not through a ROS scavenging mechanism, and synergized the cytotoxic effects of DOX against liver cancer cells without influencing the cellular pharmacokinetics.
Didox potentiates the cytotoxic profile of doxorubicin and protects from its cardiotoxicity.
Quercetin, a Natural Flavonoid Interacts with DNA, Arrests Cell Cycle and Causes Tumor Regression by Activating Mitochondrial Pathway of Apoptosis
It is found that quercetin interacts with DNA directly, and could be one of the mechanisms for inducing apoptosis in both, cancer cell lines and tumor tissues by activating the intrinsic pathway.
A concise description of cardioprotective strategies in doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity.
Doxorubicin (Dox) is frequently used as a frontline chemotherapeutic agent against a variety of cancers. Tremendous progress has been made on its optimal usage over the last 40 years. However,
