Conventional design techniques in VLSI are in voltage mode but we experience various drawbacks like smaller bandwidth, low linearity, higher power consumption, less gain etc. Also, the power of any circuit is proportional to the product of the biasing voltage and biasing current and, if we concentrate on current signal rather than the voltage signal, a better control over power can be observed.
