A type of ultra-high frequency (UHF, 840–960MHz) band near-field antenna for RFID applications is proposed. The proposed near-field reader antenna consists of two spiral-shaped transmission lines and lines are parallel to each other. By adjusting the distance between two lines of the reader antenna, the strength of the field between two transmission lines and the recognition distance are able to be controlled.
