This paper presents a controller for the optimization of flocking and formation algorithm adapted from the flocking behavior of cycling team or pelotons. The controller developed is a fuzzy-logic controller for each of the robotic agent in order for them to perform a peloton formation. Results from the simulation shows that the developed fuzzy logic controller is slightly better than the mathematical models in maintaining a small and optimal position for the peloton formation which results to a…

Design of Controller and PWM-enabled DC Motor Simulation using Proteus 8 for Flipper Track Robot

A dedicated controller for the modified flipper track robot is created using the Arduino UNO controller as main MCU, 16x2 LCD, analog joysticks in terms of analog resistors, and virtual terminal for serial print monitoring and the functionality and feasibility of the controller is verified and exhibited.

Hybrid Tree-Fuzzy Logic for Aquaponic Lettuce Growth Stage Classification Based on Canopy Texture Descriptors

A model of a hybrid tree-fuzzy logic approach was used, the classification tree was used to select the most significant features from the texture features then the fuzzy inference system was utilized in predicting the lettuce growth stage classification, and accurate results with low percentage error and correct classifications were produced.

It was proven that plant roots manifest computation and signaling based on repellant chemical and the developed root logic provides valuable information that can be extended in developing plant root-based robotic applications.

Flocking for multi-agent dynamic systems: algorithms and theory

A theoretical framework for design and analysis of distributed flocking algorithms, and shows that migration of flocks can be performed using a peer-to-peer network of agents, i.e., "flocks need no leaders."

An Asymmetric Distributed Method for Sorting a Robot Swarm

This work considers the problem of sorting a swarm of labeled robots in Euclidean space, and breaks the symmetry between the minimum and maximum, in order to keep time, travel distance, and communication costs low, without using central control.

Output Consensus of Heterogeneous Linear Multi-Agent Systems with Adaptive Event-Triggered Control

This paper investigates the output consensus problem for heterogeneous linear multi-agent systems via event-triggered control by introducing a dynamic compensator for each agent and shows that under the proposed control strategy, all agents achieve output consensus with intermittent communication in a fully distributed manner.

Consensus and Cooperation in Networked Multi-Agent Systems

This paper provides a theoretical framework for analysis of consensus algorithms for multi-agent networked systems with an emphasis on the role of directed information flow, robustness to changes in

Modelling Peloton Dynamics in Competitive Cycling: A Quantitative Approach

We propose an agent-based model for peloton dynamics in competitive cycling. It aims to generate the very complex behaviour observed in real-life competitive cycling from a collection of agents with

Reverse Group Consensus of Multi-Agent Systems in the Cooperation-Competition Network

It is found that the reverse group consensus problem can be achieved if the mirror graph is strongly connected, and the explicit expression of the error level is derived, which would be vanished for multi-agent systems with some special kinds of inputs.

Consensus seeking in multiagent systems under dynamically changing interaction topologies

It is shown that information consensus under dynamically changing interaction topologies can be achieved asymptotically if the union of the directed interaction graphs have a spanning tree frequently enough as the system evolves.

Consensus problems in networks of agents with switching topology and time-delays

A distinctive feature of this work is to address consensus problems for networks with directed information flow by establishing a direct connection between the algebraic connectivity of the network and the performance of a linear consensus protocol.
