Noccaea caerulescens :belong to the legally protected vegetation of metalliferous sites in Europe. It is also a model species for the study of metal-related traits. To improve the understanding of the evolutionary history of the species, 32 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) were discovered in several intragenic spacers of the chloroplastic genome by Sanger Sequencing from a representative set of populations throughout Europe.
