title={Design Considerations for Faceted Search : Literature Review and Case Study},

This paper reviews the current available literature concerning faceted search to provide a research overview of practices and guidelines for developing effective faceted search interfaces. These findings are then used as the basis for a case study addressing the design of a faceted search interface for classic cars. We find these concepts useful when selectively applied duting the construction of a practical faceted search application for a specific dataset and specific user needs.

Personalized interactive faceted search
TLDR
The use of collaborative filtering and personalization to customize the search interface to each user's behavior is proposed and several faceted search algorithms are proposed and evaluated using the novel evaluation methodology. Expand
What do exploratory searchers look at in a faceted search interface?
TLDR
Findings suggest that facets played an important role in the exploratory search process and yielded empirical data that will be useful for both practitioners and researchers. Expand
Dynamic Taxonomies and Faceted Search: Theory, Practice, and Experience
TLDR
This volume will allow researchers to get a coherent and comprehensive picture of the state of the art in dynamic taxonomies and faceted search, and targets advanced undergraduates, graduate students and researchers from different areas from computer science to library and information science as well as advanced practitioners. Minimum-effort driven dynamic faceted search in structured databases
TLDR
This paper proposes minimum-effort driven navigational techniques for enterprise database systems based on the faceted search paradigm that dynamically suggest facets for drilling down into the database such that the cost of navigation is minimized. Expand
Beyond basic faceted search
This paper extends traditional faceted search to support richer information discovery tasks over more complex data models. Our first extension adds exible, dynamic business intelligence aggregationsExpand
What are you looking for?: an eye-tracking study of information usage in web search
TLDR
It was found that adding information to the contextual snippet significantly improved performance for informational tasks but degraded performance for navigational tasks. Expand
Finding the flow in web site search
TLDR
Designing a search system and interface may best be served by scrutinizing usability studies, and the results can help guide the design and execution of search systems and interfaces. Expand
UIs for Faceted Navigation Recent Advances and Remaining Open Problems
Faceted navigation is a proven technique for supporting exploration and discovery within an information collection. The underlying data model is simple enough to make navigation understandable whileExpand
When You're Lost for Words: Faceted Search with Autocompletion
TLDR
This paper shows how the autocompletion data structure of [2] can be used to answer faceted-search queries eciently and obtains very fast query processing times, improving those obtained by standard approaches by an order of magnitude. Expand
Improving the Effectiveness of Knowledge Based Recommender Systems Using Incomplete Linguistic Preference Relations
TLDR
A Knowledge-Based Recommender System that manages and models the uncertainty related to users' preferences by using linguistic information and will overcome the problem of lack of information by computing recommendations through completing incomplete linguistic preference relations provided by the users.
